An outstanding branching well crystallized old-time grouping of metallic semi-lustrous acanthite measuring 6.7 x 3.4 x 2.0 cm in size overall. Completely crystallized all around 360 degrees; damage-free. Ex Lloyd Tate collection; prior to Mr. Tate this was in the collection of Gerald Herfurth. The previous label came to Mr. Tate from the Herfurth collection. A superb classic Mexican specimen.

A superb large thumbnail of this European classic! Blocky cubic semi-lustrous sharply formed crystals of acanthite to 1.4 cm in size forming an aesthetic 3.0 x 1.5 x 1.5 cm grouping. In great condition as seen; shows all around. Comes with a neat old label. Acanthite crystals from Freiberg, this well formed and sizeable, are not easy to find on today's mineral market. Fine acanthite specimens have been known from this locality for the past several years. Rarely are the crystals super sharp. The example shown here exhibits excellent sharp cubic crystals of metallic semi-lustrous gray acanthite to 0.9 cm on edge scattered over crystalline acanthite and breccia matrix. There are at least 6 excellent crystals present; the piece is undamaged. This is very fine for acanthite regardless of the locality. Size: 7.0 x 6.0 x 4.3 cm.

Superb large grouping for this species/locality. Well formed, but then in some areas quite smooth, crystals of acanthite forming a 5.0 x 2.5 x 2.0 cm cluster. Complete all around and in excellent condition. From a find at this mine in 2003, the smooth "melted" faces are due to these areas of the specimen cementing a calcite breccia.
