Absolutely superb gem quality terminated quartz crystal grouping, this with pronounced purple phantom crystals. Measures 7.5 x 4.5 x 3.0 cm and shows nicely all around 360 degrees. Neat purple and smoky partly gemmy amethyst crystal on a small amount of matrix. Neat hoppering on some of the crystal faces. Complete all around. Micro-chipping on the termination as seen. A highly aesthetic choice hand sized grouping of sparkling transparent prismatic terminated amethyst crystals, the largest and most prominent one measuring to 7.6 cm in length. There is no matrix - these all radiate from a common base. Shows nicely all around - completely free of damage and chipping. A very three dimensional piece, I think this better than as shown in the photographs. Measures 9.0 x 6.4 x 6.3 cm in size overall. Ex Lloyd Tate collection. Unusual pale pink translucent semi-lustrous almost botryoidal crystalline formation of rose quartz coming off a colorless quartz matrix. In great condition; shows all around. Beautiful pinkish-red lustrous translucent rhombohedral crystals of rhodochrosite to 2.0 cm across are covering attractively an 8.5 x 5.6 x 2.5 cm matrix. With a 10x loupe I can find very minimal and tiny chipping on some crystal edges. To my naked eye this is damage-free. The luster and amount of translucency is excellent for the species! The color is outstanding. Overall of excellent quality - a beautiful small cabinet specimen from this closed and classic locality. Ex Lloyd Tate collection.
