Glassy yellow partly gemmy terminated crystals of anglesite to 3.0 cm in length set nicely on a galena matrix with crystallized cerussite. The anglesite at top has a small chip on its termination as seen. The cerussite is not perfect, but overall this is in good condition. The base of the matrix has been sawn flat and the piece displays nicely on this surface. Measures 7.5 x 5.5 x 3.5 cm. A 9.3 x 5.6 x 3.5 cm matrix of pale green crystallized prehnite. Set nicely upon this is a 4.2 x 3.8 cm cluster of colorless semi-lustrous tabular slightly translucent apophyllite-(KF) crystals. There are other lesser crystals scattered throughout the prehnite. Very slight contacting is present off the left side of the main cluster, away from the matrix and center of the piece. Outside of this, damage-free. This is of excellent quality for one of these old Virginia classics. Ex Lloyd Tate collection. Two superb glassy partly gem quality deep green terminated apophyllite-(KF) crystals to 7.0 cm in height are coming aesthetically off a matrix with pale peach colored crystals of stilbite. Measures 8.7 x 6.3 x 5.3 cm in size. Completely crystallized all around 360 degrees and damage-free. The quality and size of the crystals is outstanding. The taller crystal is slightly cloudy within the area near the termination; this does not terribly detract from the beauty of the piece though. The color is beautiful. Ex Lloyd Tate collection.
