Some of the finest amethyst specimens known have come from this area in north-central Guerrero. The specimen shown here is classic for the area, with beautiful prismatic lustrous crystals to 8.0 cm in length coming neatly off a common base. The crystals exhibit the classic deep purple color, grading to a colorless gemmy termination. Typical of most of these that I have seen, micro-chipping is present but very sparse on the terminations of the crystals, the extent of this visible in the photos. Overall, in my opinion, this is in super condition. Measures 9.0 x 9.0 x 4.0 cm in size overall. Shows all around nicely. A small amount of silicone is attached on the lower back side of the piece allowing it to sit perfectly for display, the silicone clearly out of view as seen in the main photo.
