A neat and unusual combination specimen for tanzanite! A partly gemmy blue to bluish-purple terminated tanzanite crystal measuring 3.2 x 1.8 x 0.7 cm in size is perched on the side of a crystallized white calcite matrix. Attached to the side, and coming off the back of the tanzanite crystal is a pale bluish-gray grouping of terminated prehnite crystals measuring 2.5 cm in size. No damage - this shows all around 360 degrees. Good tanzanite specimens in combination with other minerals such as this piece are not common. Ex Lloyd Tate collection.
