Beautiful pinkish-red lustrous translucent rhombohedral crystals of rhodochrosite to 2.0 cm across are covering attractively an 8.5 x 5.6 x 2.5 cm matrix. With a 10x loupe I can find very minimal and tiny chipping on some crystal edges. To my naked eye this is damage-free. The luster and amount of translucency is excellent for the species! The color is outstanding. Overall of excellent quality - a beautiful small cabinet specimen from this closed and classic locality. Ex Lloyd Tate collection. Complete all around; one very tiny spot is chipped on the back of the piece as seen in the photos. Perfect from the front. The color and form is beautiful! Ex Lloyd Tate collection.
