Some of the world's finest examples for this species have come from this Chinese locality. The example shown here is very fine, with lustrous deep orange prismatic terminated translucent crystals to 4.6 cm in length set on a matrix of massive white calcite. The specimen shows all around 360 degrees. Overall, for a Chinese orpiment specimen, this is in very good condition damage-wise. Measures 6.5 x 5.8 x 3.8 cm in size overall. Ex Lloyd Tate collection. Extremely lustrous and bright reflective large brassy crystals of pyrite, showing neat striations, to 5.5 cm in size are covering nicely a 12.0 x 7.0 x 5.5 cm matrix. Shows all around 360 degrees and very clean of damage and chipping. Difficult to photograph well because this is so bright and shiny. The quality is excellent for the species! A 6.0 x 4.0 x 2.0 cm matrix, the top covered by two different generations of crystallized pyromorphite. The first is more orange and close to botryoidal in crystal habit. A second generation of barrel-shaped curved green crystals to 1.0 cm are scattered over the top fo this first generation. In excellent condition. Neat and attractive. Ex Lloyd Tate collection.

A superb grouping of glowing yellowish-green large fat prismatic hoppered pyromorphite crystals, these measuring to 1.9 cm in height, on matrix. Glowing lustrous green barrel-shaped crystals of pyromorphite to 1.3 cm in length are forming an aesthetic 4.0 x 3.2 x 2.0 cm cluster. Completely crystallized all around. With a 10x loupe I can find slight rubbing on one crystal termination edge, this on the back side of the piece. I could not see this with my naked eye. Classic German pyromorphite consisting of stacked lustrous brown barrel-shaped pyromorphite crystals forming a matrix-less 6.0 x 2.5 x 1.6 cm cluster. Complete all around 360 degrees. The crystals show very slight translucency on the edges. With a 10x loupe only I can find sparse and very tiny chipping on some edges; this could not be seen by my naked eye. Beautiful orange-red "jackstraw" crystals of quartz to 3.5 cm in length are forming an aesthetic 6.2 x 4.0 x 3.0 cm cluster with little attached sphalerite matrix. Great color. A wonderful transparent smoky quartz gwindel specimen measuring 13.0 x 9.0 x 5.5 cm in size. In excellent condition damage-wise and shows well all around 360 degrees.
