An outstanding branching well crystallized old-time grouping of metallic semi-lustrous acanthite measuring 6.7 x 3.4 x 2.0 cm in size overall. Completely crystallized all around 360 degrees; damage-free. Ex Lloyd Tate collection; prior to Mr. Tate this was in the collection of Gerald Herfurth. The previous label came to Mr. Tate from the Herfurth collection. A superb classic Mexican specimen.

Superb large grouping for this species/locality. Well formed, but then in some areas quite smooth, crystals of acanthite forming a 5.0 x 2.5 x 2.0 cm cluster. Complete all around and in excellent condition. From a find at this mine in 2003, the smooth "melted" faces are due to these areas of the specimen cementing a calcite breccia. Glassy transparent gemmy colorless well formed large anglesite crystal set on a small amount of matrix. Complete all around; only tiny and very minor chipping as seen. Overall in great condition. The specimen is hot glued to an acrylic display base and will be shipped as such unless otherwise requested. Size: 5.0 x 3.0 x 2.0 cm. Ex Lloyd Tate collection.

Gem quality glassy transparent colorless anglesite crystal, loose without matrix, measuring 4.4 x 2.0 x 1.5 cm in size. Complete all around. Very sparse and tiny micro-chipping is present, this hard to find and very small. Overall in excellent condition. The base is naturally crystallized as well. Very fine for the species. Gemmy sparkling vivid green glassy transparent crystals of apophyllite-(KF) to 1.8 cm in length are set aesthetically upon matrix with excellent lustrous colorless coffin-shaped crystals of heulandite to 3.9 cm in height. Minor stilbite is scattered about. One of the apophyllite-(KF) crystals is partly coated by gemmy transparent micro colorless sparkling crystals of stilbite. Measures 10.7 x 7.5 x 4.4 cm in size overall - the piece is damage-free. Great combination that is very attractive - better in person than I think as shown in the photographs. A 9.3 x 5.6 x 3.5 cm matrix of pale green crystallized prehnite. Set nicely upon this is a 4.2 x 3.8 cm cluster of colorless semi-lustrous tabular slightly translucent apophyllite-(KF) crystals. There are other lesser crystals scattered throughout the prehnite. Very slight contacting is present off the left side of the main cluster, away from the matrix and center of the piece. Outside of this, damage-free. This is of excellent quality for one of these old Virginia classics. Ex Lloyd Tate collection. Ref: The Mineralogical Record: 3,4: 173-179.

Colorless thin prismatic terminated gemmy crystals of scolecite to 9.0 cm in length are covering the top of a flattish 16.0 x 11.0 x 11.0 cm matrix. Green gemmy apophyllite-(KF) crystals to 3.0 cm are nestled attractively amongst these scolecite crystals. Sits nicely for display; shows all around 360 degrees. Quite delicate. In great condition. Striking green glassy gemmy large crystals of apophyllite-(KF) to 6.0 cm in length are scattered attractively over a white crystallized stilbite matrix. Great color contrast making for a beautiful piece. The small crystal at lower right is cleaved facing away from the piece as seen. Very pretty and showy pale green gem quality glassy crystals of apophyllite to 2.0 cm in length are scattered over a matrix of silky white stilbite crystals to 3.2 cm. Very clean of damage and measures 9.5 x 9.0 x 3.5 cm in size overall. A gorgeous specimen. Ex Lloyd Tate collection.

Two superb glassy partly gem quality deep green terminated apophyllite-(KF) crystals to 7.0 cm in height are coming aesthetically off a matrix with pale peach colored crystals of stilbite. Measures 8.7 x 6.3 x 5.3 cm in size. Completely crystallized all around 360 degrees and damage-free. The quality and size of the crystals is outstanding. The taller crystal is slightly cloudy within the area near the termination; this does not terribly detract from the beauty of the piece though. The color is beautiful. Ex Lloyd Tate collection. A 9.0 x 4.5 x 3.0 cm matrix, this studded across the top with many lustrous translucent crystals of axinite-(Fe) to 2.0 cm in size. Shows all around. Damage to a very minor crystal is present on what I consider the back of the piece. Overall a superb matrix axinite specimen! Ex Lloyd Tate collection.

A large superb razor-sharp lustrous translucent axinite crystal measuring 5.2 cm across is set perfectly on one edge of a 5.8 x 4.3 x 4.2 cm matrix. In exceptional condition damage-wise with no chips or dings. I believe that this is much better in person than as seen in the photos. The quality is wonderful for the species!
