Neat architectural large floater specimen of cubic purple slightly translucent fluorite crystals measuring 16.0 x 13.0 x 11.0 cm in size overall. Shows all around - a floater with no points of attachment. Chipping and cleaving is present on corners and edges as seen; still for such an old-time specimen I think this in very good condition. We had originally acquired this specimen in the 1990's from an old collection that was stored at a gold mine in Larder Lake, Ontario, Canada. According to records there the collection had been assembled in 1919 and 1920. At that time the piece was sold to Lloyd Tate. We reacquired the specimen in 2009 when we purchased Lloyd's collection.
