Beautiful translucent richly colored green prismatic crystals of terminated emerald are sort of stacked into a parallel cluster of crystals without matrix. Slight contacting is present on what I consider to be the back side of the crystal grouping. To my naked eye this is undamaged; with a 10x loupe I can find sparse minimal tiny chipping on some crystal edges. The color and luster is excellent. Size: 33 x 22 x 22 mm. Very sharp faces and corners. Ex Dawn and Jim Minette collection #WW288 with data card.

This old locality in Siberia is noted especially for fine gem crystals. On today's mineral market good specimens from here are seldom seen available. The example shown here is an outstanding large single terminated gemmy blue aquamarine crystal, this measuring 12.3 x 2.7 x 2.3 cm in size overall. There is very slight chipping on the termination edges as seen in the photos. Overall though, considering the age and size of the crystal, this is in great shape damage-wise. The crystal shows neat color zoning perpendicular to the C-axis, with alternating zones of darker and lighter blue. The crystal weighs 147 grams. Previously in the Joseph Freilich collection, and figured in the auction catalog on page 68, described on page 69. Ex Robert Nowakowski collection. This is a very fine and choice large aquamarine crystal for this old locality!
